Since everyone else is wrong.

If you are, in political workings…

you can cause social change with a vote.

Because over an x amount of votes.

The roles of the candidates can change.

Take for example… Al Gore and George Bush.

If you thoughtfully casted your vote for Gore…

that would mean you want Bush out of presidency.

If enough votes came along then Gore would win.

That in turn causes social change by one vote…

Because when Gore beats Bush, he is now president.

And most likely their views on the U.S. differ some way.

And Gore would do what he could to change it.

That… changing the society- social change.

(That up there makes sense.)

(Except presidents win by most Electoral College Votes)

(But what I said up there should make enough sense.)

(You are probably too young to understand the EC)

(So no worries.)

Hope that helps.

Votes should always be thoughtful, but they’re not always for the winning candidate. Sometimes change can come from a good showing by a third-party candidate, or by a candidate nobody thought would win, but who does better than expected.

It doesn’t, at least not anymore. Politicians are controlled by cooperations and the vote is decided by who has the most money.
