area codes?
how come the area code 405 (Oklahoma City) is not on the list of area codes?

I can only think of two reasons.
1. Perhaps the area code is new. From time to time an area code reaches the point were it can’t handle all the numbers that want to be assigned to it. When the saturation point is reached the area code is divided. Usually one of the two new areas retains the old code while the other area receives a new code. If that is the case you may be looking at a list published before the new area code was added.
2. Someone screwed up and left it off the list.

What list? It appears to have been an area code for at least 10 years, and is listed in my phone book…
