Calculate the median and the mean for these eight loss scores.

The mean, in this instance, is the average, which means you add the numbers up and divide by the quantity of sets of data. Therefore, the sum of all five of those numbers is 50 and when you divide by 5 (because there are 5 numbers), your answer is 10.
13, 12, 10, 9, 6
The Median = middle value = 10
Mean 13+12+6+9+10 = 50
50/5 = 10
Mean = 10
Sum the sample = 50
Divide by the sample size 50/5 = 10
For the median:
Order the samples from least to greatest: 6 9 10 12 13
Find the middle one = 10
mean is 10 (average of the 5 numbers)
mean is 10
mean is also 10
median- is the middle number of the weight loss. you gotta put them in order, and then the middle number is the answer.
