Can someone please help me with my math HW?

1) 1/5 + 3/5 = 4/5 (already in simplest form)

2) 9/8 – 7/8 = 2/8 (divide by 2 to simplify) = 1/4

3) 10/7 + 1/7 = 11/7 = 1 4/7 (one and four sevenths)

4) 7/15 – 2/15 = 5/15 (divide by 5) = 1/3

5) 5/12 + 7/12 = 12/12 = 1

6) 20/14 – 13/14 = 7/14 (divide by 7) = 1/2

Shortly you only add the top of ones with the same bottom

like a/b+c/b= a+c/b

Think of number one as one orange add three oranges. That would be four oranges. One fifth add three fifths is exactly the same problem, but with fractions instead of oranges, and you get four fifths.The others are the same, and writing in its simplest form has already been explained. i know you already received the answers for this.. but to understand it…

for fractions, when adding and subtracting.. you always need to have the same denomenator (bottom number).. once you have that.., you can simply just add or subtract the numerators(top number).. and keep the same bottom number throughout the problem! feel free to email me for more help.
