What alphabetical grade is considered a distinction for GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level exams?

Are you talking about the ones we do in England? I f so they’re called GCSE’s and A Levels now. An ‘A’ is considered very good, but I assume for a distinction (never actually herad of one) it would be an’ A*’.
