If you must stay inside the city, Westside High School is a very good school. The elementary schools and middle schools that feed Westide HS will be great as well. (I believe one of the Middle Schools is Paul Revere.)
The great thing about Houston is its Magnate program, which I participated in because I lived on a side of town with poor schools and high crime. The program states that if a child makes good grades, he/she can go to any school he/she chooses and the city will provide transportation free. Each high school and most middle schools and some elementary schools offer a wide array of special focuses. For example, there is the High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, the High School for Performing and Visual Arts. I went to Robert E. Lee High School because it specializes in Classical Humanities.
However, if you can avoid the city and live on the outskirts, then Clear Creek I.S.D is one of the best school districts in the nation. You would have to live in Clear Lake, which is between Houston and Galveston. Kingwood is north of Houston and a great place to live and go to school.
I hope this helps! You can get more information on Houston’s Magnate program here:
