i have a geometry question..can you help me?
can you tell me the proofs of why the longer end of a 30/60/90 triangle is x square root 3 and why the hypotonuse is double the shorter end? thanks..im so confused.

just use the pythagorean theorem using different measurements for 30-60-90 triangles. you will see that in everyone one, the hypotenuse is double the shorter and the longer one is x root 3. good luck!
if you still dont get it ask your teacher! thats what they are there for!

Okay. So the sine of an angle is the opposite/hypotenuse, right?
Let’s pick the thirty degree angle (this will also work if you pick the 60, but this is easier).
sin (30) = 1/2. If sin (angle) = opp/hyp, then the length of one side is 1 and the hypotenuse is 2.
Remember the pythagorean theorem, which is hyp^2 = (side 1) ^2 + (side 2)^2.
If the hyp = 2 and side 1 = 1,
2^2 – 1^2 = (side 2)^2 \
You can solve to find
side 2 = square root 3.
Make sense?
This will work even if you try it with cos, or tan, for either angle (you have to pick 30 and 60 to find out the ratios here).
