Political Science 101 and US. History?
My son is taking a political science class at a local college(political Science 101), and he was wondering if this class is the same as US. History in High School?
Or equivalent to it?
I know for a fact that A semester of Spanish 101 at a college counts as a whole year in HS? But what about Political Science?

Political science is not the same as US History. History deals more with the entire history (religious, wars, depressions, government, society, etc…) of the country while American Government focuses on government — from the Constitution to the three branches of government to the Supreme Court…Basically, it’s a much more specialized/narrower aspect of general U.S. History. Sure, some stuff’ll be the same, but the focus is different.

The problem is that people who say what you have said has not looked around. Keynesian Economics has proven to be a failure. The irony is two Republicans who use the same method as FDR has proven that Obama’s economic policy is sheer idiocy. Reagan and G.W. Bush both used Keynesian Economics and Reagan even stated that is the poicy he used. he did get us out of a recession and he had a far worse economic problem then Obama took over. The debt both created was using the government to increase jobs. The problem is the debt never got repaid. Bush Sr tried and got fired for it. If you think you that smart, disprove this statement. The Only reason that FDR was able to payback his massive government spending is WW2. No, it’s not the massive government spending that help us pay back the debt. The war destroyed most factories in EUrope and in Japan. The only country left untouch is the USA. Since we are the only country with any factories, any country who wants manufactured goods need to buy American so we had a huge trade surplus. If it wasn;t for the surplkus, we would be mired in debt and FDR’s new deal have ended in disaster due to unpaid debt. PS, any one who gives me a thumbs down, tell me why, or I will assume that you hate what I say, but not smart enough to disprove my statement.

There might be a bit of overlap, but if the instructor is any good the class will have a lot of theory and will also cover other governmental systems, not just the US
