With regards to studying, find out what environment you are most effective in. Some people like a bit of background music (e.g. classical), others need it completely silent, some like to sit in chairs, others find that they work best on the floor. I would really advise you to be clear of any distractions (e.g. the computer, TV, radio, etc.), and not make yourself too comfortable as that can lead to falling asleep.

On the topic of hobbies, again, it is all about finding out about yourself, mainly what you are passionate about. If you have always had a fascination for trains, perhaps you might start assembling model trains. Try browsing a craft store and see what peaks your interest. Good luck!
