I’m looking into becoming a Spanish interpreter, any advice on how to get started?

Schooling, degrees needed, etc.

This would vary quite a bit depending upon WHERE you want to do such a job. In an ordinary high school, just being certified (preferably in Spanish & English and Bilingual ed., would be fine), but if you’re going for government jobs…pick which one and go to their website…their requirements are QUITE specific. In the “private” sector, it really depends on the company and their demands. Some might even want someone who is “bi-cultural”, a well-established trend.

First of all is your first language english or spanish? Ia m guessing english so what you need to do is get a BA in language. Every state makes you take an exam to become an interpreter.
