He didn’t hate his oldest son, he hated Percy, his third son, because instead of siding with the order of the pheonix and dumbledore, he sided with the ministry who were against dumbledore and refused to believe that the dark lord returned.
Lol, but Percy comes back to the good side at the end. I love ’em.
