A good place to start is your state’s HS’ing association.

For local ones, do a Yahoo Groups and Google Groups search. Put your city and “homeschooling” in the search box. You should at least find a state group, if not a fairly local group.

Contact HSLDA online or by calling. They will have several resources to help you find a support group locally. An internet search will probably help too. For example, ” Homeschooling in Texas” will bring up stuff in Texas. There is not an indication in your question as to a specific state, city, etc.

I own/moderate Christian Homeschool Support Group which serves as a resource list/online support group for both Christian and secular homeschoolers. The link is below:

I hope this is helpful.

OK to give encouragement here?

More important than spelling and grammar is a love for learning. You, as a parent, can teach if you personally have a desire to learn.

Go to Yahoo groups and do a search for home school with your county, state, city or special interest. You should find plenty of support.

We home school people love to help.

If you are going to home school your child, you might want to work on your own grammar and spelling first. Ask yourself if you are qualified to take the responsibility of teaching your child everything that a public education can. Even though we would like to keep our children safe at home, we don’t want to give them an inferior education.
