What does EFC 4258. mean? Could you also shed light on your FAFSA has been selected for a review process?

Your school will use their COA (Cost of Attendance) in conjunction with your EFC to determine what sort of aid you will be eligible for. You just missed the cut off to be eligible for a Pell Grant (that cut off is 4110).
The review process is called “Verification.” The FAFSA processor randomly selects students for this processes. What you will need to do is submit certain documents to your school’s financial aid office so that the information you provided on your FAFSA can be verified. The documentation is normally a Verification Worksheet that you will be asked to complete, as well as turning in your 2006 tax information (and your parent’s (if you are classified as Dependent) or your spouse (if you are classified as Independent and married and your spouse filed taxes separately)). Sometimes some addtional tax information is required, but you start out with the Verification Worksheet and tax form.
Contact your school’s financial aid officer for more information/guidance!
if you have been selected for verification, it means your paperwork will be checked for accuracy. your school will need a copy of your tax returns you used to complete the application. about 50% of applications are verified every year.
