Can I get past w2’s online for free?

I think you have to still call your employer to get those.

I’ve never heard of an employer charging you for one.

We had to get a past one from my husband’s employer to fill out our 2005 return, and got it for free in 2 weeks from when we requested it.

W-2 forms do not have a fee associated with them. They are not available online. Your employer must provide them to you. If they are uncooperative contact the IRS www.irs.gov
