Have you already used the subsidized as well as unsubsidized Stafford loans. If your parent does not have sufficient credit to act as a co-signer and the bank refuses the loan you are eligible to be declared independent and you can receive up to $5500 more Stafford money which has no credit requirements. If you have not done this go to your schools financial aid department and get them to set you up for the additional money.

Have you tried applying for financial aid through FAFSA?
The student loans there are guaranteed by the Government so you don’t need good credit or any credit.

If you haven’t called any lenders, that should be your first step. Some have looser credit requirements than others. I got my loan through a company called Collegiate Solutions and I don’t have great credit either. Give them a call. If they can’t help, call a couple other lenders.

You might have to sit out this term. 🙁 I had to do it. It took me a year to get back in. It wasn’t fun, but it all worked out in the end.
Good luck! 🙂
