I could use some help here…?
…I’m 19 years old. I attended community college for a half of a semester and I didn’t do so well. Now because of financial issues, I haven’t been able to go back.
Does this consider me a failure? I’ve been called that recently…this is really a hard thing for me. I’ve applied for scholarships…and student loans, but nothing comes through.
I don’t have that kind of money to go back right now. So my question is…am I a loser if I don’t go back right away?

you had to know that I would answer this and you know that I’ll be there to support you in each and every way and this comes from the heart and not just because you’re my cousin it doesn’t make you a loser in any way you are young and can go back when and if you are ready you are so far from being a failure that’s his insecurities talking making you think you are you are so much more than that many people go thru the wondering if to go back to college or not and what to do career wise for their future to truely make school work for you, you have to be the one to be ready otherwise you will set yourself up for failure in the long run not even realizing it, it will become to overwhelming if you are not ready trust me been there did that love ya cuz—you have so many other things going for ya you will find your “dreams” soon and from there “go your own way”–take care “gold dust woman” and remember you can always “talk to me”

Hell no! Just because you run into some financial trouble and have to hold off your schooling, doesn’t mean that you’re a loser or failure. You’re starting out in life and the road is never easy. Ignore those that call you loser, and keep going with your life. Go back to school when you can. Good luck.

If you have financial issues and still would like to attend college, you can apply for a job AT the college – they need workers of all kinds – and then you can be making a salary and should qualify for tuition reimbursement, which means you can take a certain number of classes free each semester. win win situation. Why not go to your old community college and apply? If they know you want to attend the school it could work in your favor.

No. Some people need time off and go back later. You’re not a loser as long as you work (or are actively seeking work) when you’re not in school. Well, exceptions are for stay at home parents or those who are severely disabled and cannot work.

Would i say loser? NO. But I bet if you had the drive, you could get back to school. Maybe not how you want, but you could buy a class here and there, work full time, etc, etc. The only time you become a loser is when you know you could do more, but don’t, and hate yourself for it.

You should know yourself right now and your effort to continue your education should be appluaded not ridiculed. I sure do hope these aren’t friends telling you this, because with friends like that “who needs enemies”.

Of course not. Have you heard of the caddying program? You caddy and you may get scholarships. I’m not sure if it’s only for younger students. Sorry.
