How do I find out about local scholarships?
I remember reading once to go to the local banks and ask them because they are the ones with the scholarship fund bank accounts. Any other advice?

You’d be surprised how many scholarships there are-American Legion, Kohl’s, McDonalds, etc. Your high school counselor gets scholarships almost daily from November on.
Also, don’t limit yourself to local scholarships. Try FASTWEB.com and fill out the profile.
Look at some of the colleges you want to attend and search their website for their private scholarships. There are actually scholarships for children of veterans, foster children, teacher’s children, and almost every union has scholarships too.
