How will having history classes at school help us in the future?

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

I cant tell you how much I have already used my History class. It will help you in the future in many ways. You can learn about the constitution, which has every single one of your rights listed in it. When you hear different names such as Frederick Douglass, you wont simply brush it off as something you dont know. You will know who he is, what he did for slavery, and why museums and elementary schools are named after him. You will learn about how your town first came to be, and the different changes it has made from then to now!!! history is awesome! Im 24 and never thought I would say that

To gain some knowledge of the things that was unjust and to not to repeat in the future. But sometimes bad things get repeated so it up to someone like to help change that. You have to know the past in order to know where you are going in the future.

A lot, depending on what they are teaching.

Kids, do me a favor. When you start school this semester, especially high school, really pay attention to how time is spent teaching you about the formation of our government and constitution. It will probably be a couple of days, maybe a week.

Then look at how much time is spent learning about the civil rights movement. It will probably be double the amount of time spent learning about the formation of our goverment.

I understand the importance of learning about the fight for equality for everyone in this country, but should it really be just as important as the formation of our country itself.

Learning history is supposed to keep us from making the same mistakes. But all the so called brilliant minds of the world keep right on doing the same things over and over… we never learn

It advantages you as a results of fact in case you do no longer learn what befell interior the previous (the two the errors & the successes) you will no longer comprehend the appropriate direction on your us of a shifting forward. there is an old saying that is going some thing like: in case you do no longer learn from the errors of the previous, historic previous is definite to repeat itself.

Here’s what my dad always says: History always repeats itself. If you learn about the world’s mistakes, then you will know how to prevent it.
