APA format is the official style used by the American Psychological Association (APA) and is commonly used to cite sources in psychology, education, and social sciences. The basic guidelines for APA format were laid out in a 1929 article published in Psychological Bulletin.. These guidelines were eventually expanded into the APA Publication Manual. APA format may seem difficult, but it will become easier once you familiarize yourself with the rules and format.

APA or American Psychological Association is a documentation style. It is often used in social science or social studies papers. MLA or Modern Language Association is also a well know documentation style however it is used more in literacy papers. You can keep up to date on the latest changes made in APA or can find more information at:

There is also a website that will help you site called the “citation machine” but you have to google it to find the exact web address because I don’t know it right off hand.
