What are 3rd and 4th graders like??
I have just graduated high school and I am looking forward to going to college to get my degree in elementary education. I would like to teach either third or fourth grade. But, I am a little scared that third and fourth graders are too hormonal or rude. If anybody has any experience with teaching either grade could you please give me a brief description on what their personalities are like at this age group. For example: are they independent? Do they still like pleasing the teacher? Are they at that stage in their school career where they hate the teacher like middle schoolers?

Third and fourth graders are relatively easy. These are grades in which I would actually have to say the the boys are easier than the girls. Girls can be sneaky at that age, so watch out for that, but otherwise this age group is pretty teachable. You need to keep a variety of things going for them because they are easily bored and want lots of stimuli. Also, this age will ask to go to the bathroom a lot in order to get out of doing something they don’t wish to do. Compared with 1st and 2nd graders, though, these guys are a breeze!

3rd graders will listen to what you have to say! fourth graders on the other hand are just getting to know the game of be-mean-to-teacher. though they love subs! semi-hormonal (4th graders)

In 3rd or 4th grade I liked my teachers. The boys are a bit hyper but they’re sweet too.
