Where can I find good used textbooks for cheap?
School is starting, but I can’t find any of the books I need online. Where would be the best place to look? I have tried eBay, Half.com, Amazon, Cheapbooks, etc. Anyone know of any different places?

Look for fliers on campus. At my school, a lot of people would sell their books to other students, instead of selling them back to the bookstore, which would then mark them back up and sell them to students again. Cut out the middleman.

If you can’t find the books you need on Half.com, eBay, or Amazon, you’re probably not going to find them online because those are the biggest and best of the used book sites. If the books that you need are new (released in 2007) you might not be able to find a used copy and you’ll need to buy it at the bookstore. I’ve found that for books that have recently come out, I have to buy them at the bookstore because used copies are not available yet.

Look at the local used book store in town,,and check the bulletin board at the local college, kids are posting books for sale there

If you have a facebook account you can check in the marketplace section. Students are always posting things they have for sale there and many of those things are textbooks particularly at the end of each semester.

Also, you may want to check around your school because many major universities have used bookstores in the surronding area.
