Is this in violation of the Family Educational Rights to Privacy Act (FERPA)?
My family uses my poor performance in school against me & throw it in my face. My poor performance is because of my disability. & they dip in my business about the loan money I get. The reason how they know about the loans because they see the mail from Sallie Mae.

Are you living at home? If not, take responsibility for your financial aid and affairs and get the mail directed to you at school – but only if you’re going to stay on top of it! Hey – this is a great topic to talk to someone in disability services or even the counseling center about. College is where we all learn to advocate for ourselves…but don’t be afraid to use your resources!!! Good luck.

No, it is not a violation of FERPA.
The college cannot be held responsible for your parents opening your mail. However, your parents are committing mail fraud if they are opening mail which is addressed to you – unless they have your permission.
