Don’t worry about your major while you are a freshman – just declare something and start taking the basic courses that everyone has to take the first couple of years at university. It isn’t until your junior year that you start taking courses that are specific to your major.

Noone expects that you are going to pick one and stay with it – almost everyone changes their major at some point. I changed mine three times before I got to my junior year.

Take the time during the first two years to take different classes in different subjects that interest you – use the time to explore! You will certainly come up with some better ideas of what you would like to spend the rest of your life doing to make money.

Good luck!

Don’t worry about your major as a freshman. You will have a ton of generic classes you need to take to graduate. Focus on those and dabble a little in the things that interest you. When you know FOR SURE what you want to do then declare your major. Money shouldn’t be a factor. You’ll still be miserable driving your Mercedes to a job you hate. Work really hard and be a music professor at a college. Then you’ll do what you like and make more money.

You may want to look at an MBA if you want to make a decent paycheck.Even then there are no sure things. At least with a Business degree, you will stand a chance. With it,you can make your own business out of nothing. You can start your own business if things go south at the office.

As a music teacher, you can look forward to little pay and little recognition. It grinds after a while, but you will have a lifetime job.

Science is a good area,it pays well and you will always be in demand. It is another degree that will allow you to start your own business.

Whatever you choose, remember–life is a fight. It does not matter where you are,it is a fight.

A geologist will always be paid more and be more in demand that any teacher. That is just the way that it is.

You will always have greater freedom to choose where to work too.You can still be a teacher if you want to.

First off, if you are an incoming freshman who does not know what to do, I highly recomment you DO NOT declare your major just yet. You have until I thnk your sophmore year to declare. Instead, take all of your core classes first and this will buy you time until you decided what you want to do in life–core classes just means all required courses for all incoming students (english, history, languages, sciences, gym, etc. ). Nothing related to your major.

If you want to figure out what you would like to study, first ask yourself what you as an individual like to do, determine your strengths and what you don’t like to do then research fields that require your strengths/qualities. You will be most happiest doing what you enjoy doing. You have an inclination towards something, go with it. The money will come eventually. If you focus on the money part and not what you like to do, you will be miserable doing something you don’t enjoy doing just so you can make alot–it’s not worth it. My brother-in-law went to MIT (top school in the nation for the sciences) to major in Electrical Engineering because it “paid well” and in the end he got out of the field because he hated it. It was boring. So it’s not worth spending the money on an education if you aren’t going to use it in the field you studied in (though any degree is better than none.

I was a product manager and they make really good money after you work your way up (only takes 3-4 years to do that). You can make from $45,000 to over $100,00 if you are a associate product manager (lowest) up to a Senior Product Manager (top of the rank). This job requires a Business Degree typically in Marketing (I wouldn’t recommend getting a management degree which would also work, but anyone can learn how to manage on the job so it’s a waste–instead take Marketing since it’s vital to your role as a manager.) This job requires 40% travel and long hours, but you make good money and if you are single it’s a great place to experience the world on the company’s expense (any business trip you travel on the company will pay for your plane, hotel, food, transportation, money to take other clients out, etc.). You would learn alot and it is interesting. Given your inclination to music, you may like it (I like music and sang for years. I also have a sanguine personality so I like to be around people and I like change. This field gives you both. If you don’t like be around people and don’t like constant change, than this isn’t the job for you, but at least you get an idea of what I mean.

I know alot of teachers and they don’t particularly like teaching due to low wages for so much work and having to deal with discipline issues by students. It’s a hassle they say. No authority to take care of unruly kids is a drag.

Anyhow, good luck.

You should go and do what you love to do not just do it for the money. Yeah money is a great thing to have but its not everything that you want to factor in what you do for work. This a a HUGE problem with people going into college. You can go into school with a undecided degree and get all the pre-recs don’t so that when you figure out what you want you can study for what you want to do. I did that and now I stay at home with my kids.

So… it is nearly no longer ordinary because of the fact those are 2 very numerous issues. From my journey, journalism courses are quite aggressive and extensive, whether it varies from college to college. And journalism is probably no longer imaginitive writing. Journalism is writing articles for newspapers, gaining knowledge of and informing the conventional public. in case you majored in journalism, you will possibly likely be writing articles for newspapers, magazines, or doing information publicizes. you are able to double considerable in the two, which may be smart in direction of a activity as a nutrition critic, yet you do no longer choose that. yet, nicely, you haven’t any longer even began employing to colleges yet, so which you do no longer fairly could desire to think of roughly what you choose to considerable in. till you have been standard into engineering or track or some thing, you do no longer fairly could desire to think of roughly what you choose to concentration on because of the fact colleges do no longer assume you to comprehend what you choose to do inclusive of your existence in first year, and that they provide you a raffle to take an array of classes to attempt some waters. And alongside the way, you will possibly %. up some new pastimes, and quite a few different the stuff you concept you desire fairly seems to be a nightmare. You announce your majors in the previous the commencing up of your 2nd year, yet even then there is room to take classes exterior of your application and ensure what you choose to do. And if it helps to ease your recommendations, a great sort of employers do no longer even care what form of degree you have as long as you have a level – it exhibits you’re a clever no longer ordinary worker! do no longer concern approximately it too lots for now. you have an theory of what you desire, and that’s already astounding. start up interpreting into diverse colleges you’re drawn to, and learn diverse courses. do slightly learn, communicate on your college counselor and word to the colleges and courses that sound the main eye-catching to you.

It really shouldn’t be about money, but about what you love to do because making a lot of money doing a job you hate will make a very miserable and bitter person. Always go for your passion.
