does it matter to have different publishers for college books (novels)?
i want to buy some books for college but the price is just crazy! i looked up some of the books i have to buy (not the textbook, but the novels). the cheaper ones i found have different publishers than the ones on the list given by the school. would it matter if i bought a say, penguin classic odyssey instead of a harper or something?

Not for books like that (story books), the page number may be different but that’s no big deal. You have to worry about publisher when it comes to textbooks like a Calculus book or an Education book because in that case they’re completely different books.

The page numbers might be different, so when your professor tells you to turn to page 12, it might be page 9 in your book.
