Should I take AP classes?

I am going into by junior year in high school. Last year I took one AP class and did quite well in the class and on the exam. This year, I am signed up for 3 classes, but I am wondering if this is a good idea. I want to go to John Hopkins University, so I know I want to stand out in my class, but 3 college classes on top of 3 honors courses and two online classes might be too much. What should I do???

It will not be too much if you motivate yourself! AP students rock, have the most fun, and are the most successful in their future careers. When I decided to take 5 AP classes, people told me it would be too much. When I decided to teach myself AP Calculus BC, I thought it would be too much. Guess what? I got 5’s on all of my AP exams! If you enjoy what you are doing and have a goal in sight, you will do great. I’m sure you can handle it if you set your mind to your goal and don’t let yourself get overwhelmed. Good luck and go for it!

You need to take as many APs as possible. Especially next year. Once you get to college, you’ll be so glad you did, because you won’t have to take so many classes. I took AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP US History, AP American Government, AP Microeconomics, AP Biology, and AP Statistics. Now, I’m starting college at University of Florida (go gators!) and I’m pretty much picking whatever classes I want for my first semester. If you want to go to Johns Hopkins, you better keep taking them. Stay away from online courses next year; in-school APs are way more valuable.

work your *** off. It’s probably too late to change now. It is better to have a high GPA instead of a bunch of AP classes with low grades. Plus universities tend to look at your extracurricular activities so it’s important that your plate isn’t overloaded with school because you will need time to get involved with other things such as community service or student council. Good luck!

Yes take them, then the AP exams at the end of the year! They will get you ahead in college! You will obtain so many credits that you may even be consider a Sophomore your first year!
