It distinguishes you from others. It makes future employers say “hmmm this one has a minor in …… compared to this one who doesn’t” It may be a little more work, but it is valuable to many employers.

It’s like a backup plan. Some companies like to see it. you don’t concentrate on it as much as you do the major.
