Studying Medicine in the states?
I’m doing my bachelor’s degree in canada, what are my chances at getting into med school in the states ?

Good if you have good grade. Also, good MCAT score. The medical school is very competitive. On top of that, medical school in US is a lot more expensive than Canada. Also, upon graduation, you are not guarantee a medical doctor job. Tough choice…you decide for yourself. Good luck.

Most medical schools in the US have very few international student spots. It would be much cheaper to stay Canada and apply for a residency in the US, if you want work here. More and more US schools are requiring that you be a state resident for application, so you will be quite limited in schools. It is very competitive, so if you want an international seat you want excellent grades and a top score on the MCATs, preferably over 35. As for the inane comment that you aren’t guaranteed a job once you get your MD, if you don’t pass your boards no you can’t get a job.Otherwise jobs are plentiful and quite a few docs start there own practices.
