Associates degrees- AA, AS, AAS, ASN, etc…. 2 years – 4 semesters of full time study You can go from the associates to the bachelors and it counts for the first 2 years.

Bachelors = 4 years – 8 semesters of full time study

Masters – traditionally (good programs anyway) take about 2 more years – 4 semesters of full time study.

Doctorate – PhD anywhere from 2-5 more years (after the masters) of classes and a dissertation.

Professional degrees MD, DDS, DVM, etc… skip the masters and you go straight to those schools- they take 4 years including summers. A JD (law) is 3 years. There are also advanced professional degrees.

An associates degree takes two years to complete and is generally completed before going for a bachelor’s. An associate’s degree is optional and won’t get you anywhere in the job market but can get you into a good bachelor’s program. A bachelor’s degree takes four years to complete and is the basis for getting into a master’s program. A master’s degree is a two year degree that you can earn after you earn your bachelors. The last degree is a doctorate. This is the highest level of education you can get.

There are a bunch of different degrees. Some disciplines have their own degrees as well. If you go to a four year college/university, you will most likely get a BA or a BS (Bachelors of Arts/ Bachelors of Science). Unusually when people say a college degree, they are referring to the bachelors.

A master’s degree comes after your complete the BA/BS. Some programs within some universities do allow you to begin working on your Masters while you are still completing your Bachelors. Usually you stay in college for an extra year and get both degrees.

Veterinary Assistant classes (could you’re taking them) take a pair of three hundred and sixty 5 days (2 semesters) and are effect, as yet, in no certification. As an Assistant, you’re extremely an LPN in human drugs. maximum of your projects would be animal restraint and cage cleansing. Veterinary Technician classes take 2 years and do effect in being qualified. it is the equivalent of an RN in human drugs. As such, you may close surgical procedures etc. Veterinary Tech. associate is something of an in-between, i could anticipate, of the two above. extra duties, yet nonetheless no certifications.
