Contrary to what the previous poster said, it may be possible to get in to pharmacy school with an associates degree in chemistry, as long as you have taken all the pre-reqs for admission. In many pharmacy programs, the student will do two years of pre-pharmacy where they will take many of the general biology an chemistry classes. After the two years, they will apply to pharmacy school, which is another four years. You do not have to have a bachelor’s degree to get into pharmacy school. I would caution you though to make sure you have taken all the required classes needed. Make sure to check with the admissions personnel to make sure. Also, make sure you have taken the PCAT (and scored high), have a high GPA, and try to get some experience, either working as a pharmacy tech or shadowing a pharmacist. Getting into pharmacy school is very competitive.

Yes it is much eaiser for you to get in with a ba than an aa. Plus you want to have some sort of back up in case you dont get in. Also keep in mind community colleges do get looked down on so make sure you have a 3.8 min g.p.a there. As long as you have really high grades at a community college they will accept you. My friend had a 3.5 gpa from harvard in chemistry my other friend had a 3.7 gpa from chemistry from a cal state university. Guess who got in? The one from harvard because the course work is harder so considering its community college the courses have to be a joke. Good luck 🙂

Since there are two conflicting answers, I felt the need to respond.

alynnemgb is right. You don’t need to have gotten your bachelors as long as you’ve taken all the required courses a pharmacy school wants.

Without knowing what school and GPA you went to as well as where you’re applying, it’s impossible to tell what school you have the best chance of getting in to.

No, I believe you have to get your BS in chemistry first, that means transferring to a state college or university.
