What is a “good match” college for me?
Here are some of my stats:
-3.6 GPA
-6 AP classes with scores of 4 or higher
-2100 SAT score
-800+ hours of community service
-3 years of Writing Club
-3 years of Art Club
-2 years of Philosophy Club
-1 year of Varsity Tennis
-1 year of Key Club
What school is on my level? I have several reach and safety schools but no good matches. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
PS– Is Johns Hopkins, Rice and Emory impossible for me to get into? Would it be a waste of money to apply?

You need to apply. You have a good shot at attending most any college you want.

Do you know what major you like or what state you would like to go to? How much are you willing to spend on college? this are all factors. do you want it close to home. far away from home? Also the colleges that you like you have an okay shot at getting into it. remeber it not only about grades and S.A.T scores extracurricular activities matter and it you have a lot of it. and you could use the common Application to apply to those schools. this has nothing to do with the question but whats key club?

A “good match” should be determined by the type and size of school you’re looking for as well as by the field of study that you think you may be interested in studying (e.g. does the school offer a strong curriculum in that field of study?). I would worry less, if I were you, about impressive names (although it’s fine to apply to some) and more about whether or not you’d actually be happy at any given school. (In other words… the match goes both ways… not just whether you think the school will want you. Most schools — even competitive ones like MIT — want to get a sense of who you really are as a person, beyond your transcripts, grades, etc.).
Good luck.
