I have a prescription for medical marijuana, and plan on applying to business school next year. Any problems?
I have the prescription, but have not gotten the card yet. I plan on applying to business school next year in a different state (in CA now) and want to know if there’s any way they’ll see the prescription or if it will cause any problems. Also, when looking for a job (most likely in another country), will that be a problem?

You should not have any problems, but your script will not be recognized outside of California. Your medical records will not by viewed by potential employers, and even if it were your script will probably not be a part of you record. This is because the doctor that gave you your script is not associated with your primary caregiver. You probably signed something allowing the doctor that examined you to access your medical records. Many doctors will just hold on to that paper in case you ever need to defend your right to be in possession in court. I wouldn’t worry about it at all, but I wouldn’t mention it to prospective employers either.

I would think you could call your potential school and find out if it’ll be an issue. I’m not sure prescriptions show up on a background check and medical record checks aren’t typically allowed without your written consent.
My guess is that it will all depend on the reasons you were given the script, but I’d contact the school, or even the prescribing doctor, and ask if it could be an issue.

All I can tell you is that my brother can’t find a doctor to write the prescription although it’s legal in Washington because the doctors are afraid of the feds.
Lots of things to consider here. Check not just laws where you’re going, but individual pharmacies and doctors.

Your perscription will probably not be good in states and countries that do not approve of it. So , yes, I’m betting there will be big problems.
