The FBI doesn’t have any specific school requirements except that you actually have to attend college for four years and get a bachelor’s degree. So, you can pretty much study anything you’d like. I’m on the same career path and am currently studying sociology and minoring in Arabic. Knowing a foreign language will obviously help your chances, and a language like Arabic, Persian or Spanish will definitely improve your chances. Go to college and study what you’d like, but also make sure you intern at a courthouse, police department or anywhere else you can get hands on experience in the criminal law area.

Good luck!

You must have at least a 4 year degree to become an FBI Special Agent. You should consider choosing accounting, computer science, a foreign language that the FBI considers critical, or law as your college major. Whatever major you choose, make the most of your time in college. Choose a school that is properly accredited, get the highest grade point average that you can, participate in a couple extracurricular activities, get a good internship, do some regular volunteer work, don’t do anything illegal, and maintain a good reputation. Any properly accredited college or university would be fine. Getting law enforcement officer jobs is becoming more and more competitive. Becoming an FBI Special Agent is a very competitive process. Becoming an FBI Special Agent is a great goal. However, many federal agencies have criminal investigators or special agents. Consider the FBI and other agencies too.

Well I’m not American, so considering the FBI personally wouldn’t be an option for me, however I know that government agencies tend to regard foreign languages highly and I can’t answer the second half of the question sorry cos I don’t have the foggiest!

well, study criminal justice, psychology, accounting, or criminology….graduate, then get your foot in the door at a sheriffs department, or police department….stick it out for about 4 years then apply with the FBI. ATF, ect…

you could leave college and apply, but the odds are slim to none without any experience…so it takes a while but it is well worth it.
