I have a few questions about college…?

First, I am a 19 year old soon to be college boy.

1. Do they have field trips in college?

2. Can I bring in cupcakes or cake still when it is my birthday (like i did in h.s.) Do they still do birthday parties?

3. How much will it cost for me to get a 19 year old girl friend in college?

4. Can my little sister be my roomate (i don’t have a g/f yet and i don’t want to be with strangers, i rather talk and play board games and cards with my sister, she is 13)?

5. Do they have a school counselor/social worker I can talk to if i need to?

1) Sometimes, but they aren’t really called field trips. If you’re taking a science-field, expect a trip. If you’re not, you probably won’t.

2) You’ll do that with your roommate, not your entire class for all of your classes

3) More than you can afford

4) You need to grow up someday.

5) An advisor and a counselor. Yes.

1. In college, I have found that it all depends on the professor. Now, these are completely different than what you are used to. For example, you usually have to find your own way there and it usually is a very professional type thing

2. NO. Don’t ever bring anything like that to class, never, you will immediately be on the professors bad side by wasting his time. Also, sometimes you are in a class of 300. Rule of thumb, if you want birthday things, do it with your friends in the dorms or wherever.

3. I hope by this question you mean how much money is it going to take to keep her happy and that is all dependent upon the girl, not the best question.

4. NO, the roommate must be enrolled in the college and you can’t have coed roommates if you are living in university housing anyway. Plus the best part about college it meeting the new people. Trust me

5. Always, many of them. That’s the great thing about college, they have every resource you could need.

From the sounds of things, you don’t sound ready to let go of family but I’m tellin ya, from experience, once you do, its a ******* blast. Have Fun

Hi! I am 34 years old and going to college for the first time. I injured my knee pretty bad and cannot return to the work i was doing. So i have to get a degree in order to make decent money, so i have been looking at a ton of admission requirements. Currently i am on the student senate, enrollment advisory board and ciric. board. Take all the math you can now!!!!!! Calc. probably wont be required for you, but it gives you more options. Plus you can always test out of math when you get to college, and that opens up your schedule to take other classes! And Physics is a blast, and goes nicely with Calc.! Also, most Universities like to see applicants take a second language. If U of D has that low of an acceptence rate you need to show them that you accel, that you would be an asset to thier enrollment. The best way you can do that is #1 -Take MORE than the least amount required Ex.: More math, physics, and having 2-8 more credits than what your H.S. requires #2 -A good GPA #3 -One of the most important thing schools and employers look for is involvment in other activities Ex.: Get a job! If possible one that relates to your career. Join clubs and organizations! Ones that have high community involvement or national recognition are best, but any will do. Hope that helps!

I realize this is a joke and I’m probably wasting my time, but for the heck of it…

1. No, there are no field trips in college. However, a certain class might request/require that you attend something or go somewhere on your own time. But that is rare. In my three years so far, I’ve only had to do this once (we were required to take a trip to some wildlife place for a freshman general bio lab class so that we could collect samples of soil, water, etc).

2. Well, people will definitely eat those cupcakes if you bring them, but they will also think you are a big loser & laugh at the fact that you are now in college and still bringing desserts to class for your birthday…

3. It depends on the girl…

4. That is creepy.

5. Yes, they do.

Deep down in side I am hoping you are just joking, but I have know some ppl in college like this I swear.

1) yes some classes will have field trips, they are rare though

2) depends on the class and college, but for the most part no most part parties are out side of the classrooms.

3) not sure how much of a g/f but usually if you are buying a girl it is called prostitution. so I doubt you can buy a GF

4) No you can not be roomates witht he opposite sex in a dorm room. In an apartment probably, but probably not your 13 yr old sister. roomates are really not that bad.

5) there are always counsolors and advisors on campus.

1) Yes, but not very frequent. Usually the trip consists of visiting a river for experimental water testing in an environmental class or seeing a famous speaker at a local amphitheater. Most classes will not go anywhere other then the classroom.

2) no, you can bring something to snack on but most folk wont care its your birthday, and you will not be given any time to party in class.

3) umm, GFs don’t cost anything, dating does. Just talk to girls in your classes and dorm.

4) If you live at home she can be, if you live on campus you will be bunked with other college students.

5) Yes, there will be a health and wellness building where they keep medical records and provide other medical services. They usually have a decent sized team of counselors to service the college community.

1. No, not really, but it may depend on the kinds of classes you take. Upper division, perhaps, if they’re science-related. But in any of the lower-division classes, for sure, no.

2. Technically yes, but it’s not really appropriate. So, no, you shouldn’t.

3. It depends on the college, but expect several thousand dollars per year. She should really find a way to pay her own way, not rely on YOU for her education.

4. No; anyone who is not attending the college can not be a roomate in a dorm. You’re going to have to find an apartment if you want to live with your sister.

5. Yes, there are always counseling services available.

you’re not serious are you? This seems to be a joke of a question. Who actually thinks your 13 year old sister can be your college roommate or you need to pay for a girlfriend?

No one will take this seriously.

Yeah, you’re right. You are a boy. Dude, grow up. For your sake, I hope they have a counselor. I think you all may need to chat.

you may be a good candidate for homeschooling or online college. You sound like you may have a bit of trouble on your own.
