Can a minor be added to an existing Bachelor’s degree?

I can finish my major in 2 semesters, and I’d like to graduate as soon as I do. However, I can also add a minor to my degree by taking 2 additional classes. These classes would overload my already-packed semesters, though, so they would have to wait until summer or fall of 2008.

If I take these classes after I receive my Bachelor’s degree, can I retroactively add the minor qualification? Can I get an updated degree plaque for my wall as well, to show the new achievement?

No, you will need to finish your classes before your degree is conferred to qualify for the minor. So if you want the minor, you will have to wait until the next degree conferral at your school. Most schools do have more than one conferral date, one in December and one in May or June. Check with an academic advisor and the graduation office at your school for their policies regarding graduation.

no you cannot add a minor ex post facto. if you want the minor for a real reason other than bragging rights then do it now. otherwise bragging rights dont get you much of anything in the job market. if you still want to take the classes then have go.

I think you might have to delay your graduation date to do that.
