Law school?
I really want to go to law school and become a lawyer and go to New York University. I’m quite sure i can get entrance if i work hard enough but the real issue is paying. My parents have a 60k college fund but NYU costs about 31k per semester, not including room costs and food….and i hate student loans…..

So, what’s your question? One of the most important things you need to do when you are a lawyer is to articulate. Your “question” doesnt come close. Your parents’ college fund is not going to pay for undergraduate school, let alone law school. If you want to be a lawyer, you are going to have to take out student loans. And you are going to have to learn how to communicate on paper.

The paying will not be that big of a problem. 31k x 4 = 124k. then 124k-60k=64k. Just do well at NYU or wherever you go and get in the top 5%-10% of your class. There are too many lawyers out there already and it would be hard to find a decent job after college. There are lawyers who can’t find jobs in the US since its basically bombared with them. If you want you should go to a school like Georgetown even though tuiton is more. Go to George. while majoring in Law and Japanese. Learn the language more in japan and the law system there. YOu will become sucessful after years because JAPAN IS IN NEED OF LAWYERS. It was on TIMES magazine and other media magazines I have read. Then paying off the tuiton wouldn’t be that hard after that.

Go to a less prestigious school and (possibly) get a full ride, or take out student loans and consider it an investment. Or, you could languish in NY for another four years doing nothing because you “hate student loans”.

Wow, your parents are generous.
It’s your life, you decide if you want the debt and the education, or if you want to go to a cheaper school.
NYU has a lot of scholarship opportunities, and you can always try for financial aid.
I have to agree with the first answer. If this is how you write, maybe law school is not the best choice.

Student loans shouldn’t be looked at as debt, but rather as “investment” in your future. You’ve heard the cliche, “you have to spend money to make money,” right? So why would you think it wouldn’t apply to college?

I wish I had a college fund that big. Mine is less than 100$
