They have a school search tool that is pretty helpful.
Think about a few things: Is a big city important to you, or are you looking to get away from it all? Do you want a huge school (20,000+) or tiny (1,000 or so)? Understand the drawbacks of each. Big school means more people, more opportunities, more class options, but also bigger classes, etc. Small school you’ll know everyone on campus, teachers will know your name, but you’ll have a smaller selection of classes, it will probably be expensive.
Do you want public or private? Do you want hardcore academics or hardcore parties?
Make lists of the colleges that interest you and notes as to why they caught your attention. Check out sites like epinions.com and studentsreview.com and look up the schools to see what other students had to say. REalize that some people are just mean on these sites though and say stuff that is not true or just useless.

Write one GENERAL essay on a topic like, “The most important thing that changed my life?” and then as you find scholarships you want to apply to, edit your essay, change the intro and conclusion, and other parts as necessary to fit their question. Look at 10-20 scholarship questions, and you’ll see that if you’re a little creative, almost all of their questions can be answered in a very similar way.
Go to the NCAA website to see which schools have lacrosse teams (currently not DUKE) and then from those see which ones are the best fit with your athletic expectations and your major. It is then that you look at financial aid and admission requirements.
Good Luck!
