Don’t know anything about the sports teams, but I highly recommend www.princetonreview.com

They have a school search tool that is pretty helpful.

Think about a few things: Is a big city important to you, or are you looking to get away from it all? Do you want a huge school (20,000+) or tiny (1,000 or so)? Understand the drawbacks of each. Big school means more people, more opportunities, more class options, but also bigger classes, etc. Small school you’ll know everyone on campus, teachers will know your name, but you’ll have a smaller selection of classes, it will probably be expensive.

Do you want public or private? Do you want hardcore academics or hardcore parties?

Make lists of the colleges that interest you and notes as to why they caught your attention. Check out sites like epinions.com and studentsreview.com and look up the schools to see what other students had to say. REalize that some people are just mean on these sites though and say stuff that is not true or just useless.

Fill out your fafsa ASAP in january 08.

Write one GENERAL essay on a topic like, “The most important thing that changed my life?” and then as you find scholarships you want to apply to, edit your essay, change the intro and conclusion, and other parts as necessary to fit their question. Look at 10-20 scholarship questions, and you’ll see that if you’re a little creative, almost all of their questions can be answered in a very similar way.

As a former student athlete, you must choose a school were you have a fair shot at making the team, and you must be aware of your own skills.

Go to the NCAA website to see which schools have lacrosse teams (currently not DUKE) and then from those see which ones are the best fit with your athletic expectations and your major. It is then that you look at financial aid and admission requirements.

Good Luck!

i’m in community college suited now and in straightforward terms have 5 greater training to pass (after next semester) till i’m getting my associate’s, then I plan on shifting and double majoring in journalism and photographs. Combining my 2 passions. My time table for this semester, which will fortuitously be over next thursday, is international Civ, Printmaking, layout, and paintings historic previous. My time table for next semester is Intro to desktops, American Literature, Anthropology, Mass Communications, digital photographs, and circulate success. you’re gonna love international civ. I took the two a million and a couple of, a million is surprising, I have been given to write down a record on gladiator struggling with, yet 2 is perplexing because of the fact everybody has an identical call (Louis, Elizabeth, and so on.). I advise taking some paintings training for electives if your college delivers them. they are relatively relaxing and incredibly elementary, in spite of in case you suck at paintings. actually elementary A’s.
