what would a well spoken classy person use instead of the word “sh*t”, “damn”, “f*k”?

And because profanity (like the ones you mentioned) have “street-like” origins, classy people would strive to avoid them. The reason being that if classy people were to use those profanities, it would dramatically “lower” their status as classy individuals, and to them, class is very important.
And besides, profanity (like those that you mentioned), is only one way to express yourself. People with more elaborate vocabulary never find the need to use profanity. And then there are artistic individuals, who can express their emotions in the form of visual arts, music, and drama.
There were these three very well refined southern women sitting on the front porch and just enjoying the day visiting and chatting.
The first lady spoke up and told the other two how her husband had bought her a 2 caret diamond ring for their anniversary. The second lady gasp and was truely impressed, the Third southern lady just nodded her head and declared like a proper southern lady, ” How Nice.”
Well, not to be out done by the first lady the second southern lady declared that the new cadillac sitting in the drive way was what her husband had bought her for her birthday. The first southern lady gasped and was truely impressed, the third southern lady just nodded her head and declared like a proper southern lady, “How nice.”
Well, the three ladies sat there and the first two waited for the third to tell them what she got, they could no longer wait and asked her, “Well, Missy tell us what your husband got you for your anniversary or birthday?” The third southern lady leaned forward, and began to tell them. With her most southern accent, softly spoken, She begins,” My husband sent me to finishing school.” The two ladies, gaspped and asked her. ” But why you are the most proper lady we know?” ” What could you of possibly learn at a finish school?”
She explain that she learned to listen when others bragged about what they got or had, to say ” HOW NICE.” instead of FU……LOL….
So now you have just what you need, the next time you feel the need to say FU, Sh_t, and any other less classy expression, you have an inside joke for yourself, You look at them and say, Oh, HOW NICE……
You will find that most “well spoken and classy” people refrain from using expletives in everyday language. A simply “Oh!” will suffice.
“Oh Dear!”, “Oh my!, My goodness!, “How interesting!”
The benefit of having poise is that it allows you time to think before opening your mouth. Self control and practise is the real answer.
