Why won’t Americans recognize that we are fighting a holy war?

We are not fighting a holy war–we are not seeking to force a religion on anyone. We may be defending ourselves against a holy war, but we perceive the war differently. We see ouselves as fighting against fanatical terrorists. I agree that nothing we can do or say will ever appease those muslim fundamentalists, and I think we should quit trying to do so.

I also think that we have missed the boat on stopping this terrorism. The Western world has given refuge and succor to so many muslims that they have now infiltrated into positions of power and influence in our legal and political systems. From there, they can do far more harm to our free society than any number of terrorists can.

Yes, we are and have been too politically correct. At airports, we have to search even the least unlikely of people like my 80 year old mum because we can’t do profiling since that would upset some people. We should take a leaf out of the Israeli’s book and handle airport security the way they do–political correctness be damned.

When people abuse freedom of speech in order to preach hatered and to call for death, murder, they should be incarcerated immediately and given extremely long sentences. Instead, we stand by like namby pambys while they spit in our face and threaten to kill us.

We need to crack down hard on home-grown terrorists. The death penalty for treason would be appropriate for those who seek to slaughter their fellow citizens. At the very least, terrorists should be incarcerated for life with no possibility of parole.

Probably because so-called ‘moderate’ Muslims insist it’s not jihad and say they’re offended that we keep calling the terrorists ‘Muslims’ (even though they are!).

Also, perhaps because if the USA/UK admitted it was jihad it’d have implications for Christians and Jews r.e. fighting back – a Holy War – how would they get non-Christians/Jews to fight for them?

Plus I don’t think it’s really is a ‘proper’ jihad anyway, because their target is so non-descript and loose – who or what are they fighting exactly? It seems like they don’t know it themselves. They fight even in Muslim countries, they kill Muslims in the USA/UK along with non-Muslims. So who or what are they fighting? A way of life?? I don’t know. Not every person in the ‘West’ subscribes to ‘Western’ morality, so there’s really not the tiniest speck of logic to the terrorist’s reasons.

I am Muslim. And let me make it one think clear to you Kave that Holy War can only be declared by the rulers / government of a country.

Therefore these terrorists that are fighting NATO have obviously declared and illegal Jihad.

How can they call themselves Muslims when they are themselves slicing the necks of innocent Muslims.

These radicals have nothing to do with religion. Have you noticed that none of these radicals support any government in this world ?

Even if government that supports them is formed, they will still oppose it.

The radicals in the UK are traitors. When the UK has given everybody freedom to practise their religion and live in peace, these radicals are conspiring behing the government’s back

A “holy war” is a coward’s war. It’s laying the blame on God for not being able to get rid of the bad seed Himself. If my God really needed MY help to do something as simple as kill little children, mothers, and fathers minding their own business, perhaps I’m believing in the wrong god.

Don’t kid yourself, though. Yes, they call it a “holy war” but it’s ALWAYS about money and land acquisitions. The Christian Crusades were NOT God’s doing but man’s greed to acquire land, property, and riches. These were given to the Church and pilfered by the Crusaders.

If Afghanistan was wealthy Al Queda would never have attacked us. They didn’t attack our steeples or churches. They attacked the symbol of financial prosperity across the world (The Twin Towers).

It’s a fight against capitalism. If they wanted to eliminate just Christians they would be attacking the little countries around them that are mostly Christian—not us.

It is not politically correct to Say there is a God so there can not be a holy war so there is not any war going on.

Some have said it is not Muslims fault it is the Jews and Christians fault for just being alive and making the poor Muslims mad for breathing air.

I agree that they are using our freedoms to attack us and as a nation with so many tyores of religions and cultural diversity they are crazy to think that they are going to change everyones mind and kill all of us because if it really came down to it, do these Muslims know just how many Americans are on crazy pills or happy pills, we are a heavily medicated and firearm wielding nation and if they do wage a major attack adn kill off a ton of us there will be twice that many pissed off and ready to kill all of them, think about it for every pissed off Muslim there are about 10,000 lunatics that are American looking for a reason to snap and shoot someone, so they had better eat their Weaties becuase America is growing a backbone and in my opinion we always had one, my great grandma who died at the age of 100 carried a pistol around in her apron in her own house! Because this world has gotten so crazy even the old folks are packin heat, my Mom has her pistol now and beleive me if she had to she wouldnt hesitate to use it.

I certainly agree with you but it’s not just the Muslims. It’s the Christan’s and Jews too. They all have their own particular endings worked up in their heads and are using each other and us to get where they need to be when the world ends (by their hand or someone else’s does not matter). They don’t care if the world ends and everyone dies, just gets them to what they’re waiting for faster. Shame that the rest of us are caught up in it and don’t seem to even comprehend that we are. Can’t change what you don’t acknowledge.

The truth is that you are right. The freedoms that we love so dearly, protects them also. How about this, we all pretend to convert to Islam, come to power within the religion and modify it to eliminate violence, hey isn’t that the actual doctrine. I believe the true Muslims are not violent people, problem is that these radicals who practice their own version, are more powerful. It would be nice if the true Muslims eliminated the problem within, not going to happen soon!

The reason they’re called “terrorists” is because they’re not big enough to form an army of their own. They’re not even a threat to their own countries. There is no way they’ll ever convert all of the USA to Islam. Pretty absurd thought. If the Nazis couldn’t get all of Europe to their way of thinking will all of their military might, what makes you think that terrorists will do that to us with far less to work with?

They succeed ocassionally with terrorist acts only because they have megalomaniacal leaders who attract weak-minded followers who can’t think on their own. (READ: STUPID)

If the two usa plops a nuke then the worldwide community might desire to nuke the rustic that does so off the face of the planet. the two international locations talk a sturdy activity. So enable them to have at it. whilst they see the waste and folly of their prejudices, they might come to a determination conflict wasn’t the respond in spite of everything.
