No. You capitalize them. However, if you are writing an essay or a paper about a book then you italicize the title of it when referring to it.

You capitalize the name of places, if you meant put the name of somewhere in italics then you only do that when your writing a story

Capitalize the first letter of proper nouns such as Philippines. Island is not a proper noun so you don’t have to capitalize the “i” unless the sentence begins with that word.
